OTR LEADER’S SUPPORT OF MILITARY EMPLOYEE EARNS HIM A SEAT ON AIR FORCE REFUELING MISSION

ROME, Ga. – Keith Meyers, U.S. Director of Operations for OTR Engineered Solutions (OTR), was recently honored with a once-in-a-lifetime chance to participate in the National Guard and Reserve’s Boss Lift Program. This program recognizes employers who demonstrate strong support of military employees and offers them a rare opportunity to visit military installations throughout the nation, including hands-on training exercises. OTR’s Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Plant Manager and Air National Guardsman, Mitch Sohm, nominated Meyers for this opportunity, due to his unwavering support for Sohm’s military career.
“The first person that came to my mind was Keith,” said Sohm. “When I got an email from my unit about the Boss Lift Program asking for nominations, I immediately thought of how he supported my military career and made things easier for me during deployments.”
In the Boss Lift Program, Meyers observed a mid-air refueling exercise aboard a KC-135 Stratotanker on August 6, 2025. He also learned more about the valuable training and leadership activities that Guard and Reserve members undergo, fostering a greater appreciation of their sacrifices and responsibilities.
“This was an extremely special opportunity,” said Meyers. “I’m honored that Mitch would think of me for this program. Honestly, we see Mitch’s involvement in the Guard and Reserve as a benefit and are glad to have him as part of our team.”
Tom Rizzi, CEO of OTR, commented on how this honor reflected on the company’s culture. “Keith’s participation in the Boss Lift Program is a testament to the respect and appreciation our team has for those who serve,” said Rizzi. “Supporting our people – both in their careers and in their service to the country – is part of who we are as a company and ties directly to our core values.”

The Boss Lift Program is part of the Employer Support of the National Guard and Reserve (ESGR) program, which was established in 1972 by the Department of Defense to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers.
