When you came to me with the OTR track rep. wanting me to purchase aftermarket Takeuchi tracks I must say I was very negative about the idea.
We have sold aftermarket tracks to our best customer (Kissick Const.) in the past and have not had very good luck with them. As a mater of fact, this customer even bought some aftermarket tracks from two of our competitors and has had very bad luck with them as well.
I was impressed with the fact that when I told you the only way that I would even consider another aftermarket track to sell to our customer would be if OTR gave a free set to our customer to try and they did it.
I cannot remember how long ago that was, however the customer called me the other day and needed a set of tracks for the same Takeuchi TL150 that had the set of OTR tracks on them. The customer advised that he had 800hrs on these tracks and the only reason he needed another set was that his undercarriage was worn out and caused his machine to throw one of the tracks off. Other than the damage that occurred to the one track when it came off of the machine, the tracks still looked in great shape.
Our customer replaces tracks in pairs on his machine and requested that we sell him a set of aftermarket tracks from OTR.
This customer has also said that from now on, we will have all of his track business and has requested that we stock OTR tracks for his machines instead of the Takeuchi (Bridgestone) brand.
This may not sound like a great big deal, however when you consider that this customer owns 20 Takeuchi TL150 machines, you can see that it is a big deal to us.
