When it comes to heavy equipment like tractors, forklifts, loaders and others, it’s important to  have access to tire facilities and supplies to ensure continued operation. Having downtime for any essential unit during a project or construction site can translate to delays and loss in profits. Companies and the agriculture industry need reliable suppliers to deliver on time and that have long lasting, durable products to endure the heavy loads these heavy machines produce.

From North America to Africa and Europe to Asia, OTR Engineering has been providing high performance wheels and tires for global clients through its proven engineering and product innovations since 1987. Clients anywhere in the world can select from the company’s wide range of product and services. Serving as a one-stop single source supplier, clients can obtain all their wheel, tire and wheel mounting needs practically anywhere in the world. Products included are rubber tracks, tires, wheels, mounting and tireliner flat proofing.

Companies and industries that utilize compact track loaders, skid steers, excavators and other machines that use rubber tracks can have confidence with the tracks offered by OTR. OTR Wheel Engineering Inc. implements an innovative manufacturing process where its rubber tracks do not have any weld points that can become weak over time. This process, using Continuous Steel Cord Technology, helps save clients’ time and money and offers outstanding strength and flexibility in the track. It has been tested to be 40% stronger than traditional steel
cords at a single point.

According to its website, www.OTRWheel.com, its rubber tracks offer reduced noise and 100% less vibration due to the OTR’s new triple-S technology. As a result, it can provide clients with less wear and extend the lifespan of the track. In addition to the engineering, OTR rubber tracks fit a plethora of equipment manufacturers ranging from Bobcat, Hitachi, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, John Deere and Ditch Witch. OTR now offers tracks that fit Caterpillar models 330CR,247/257,267/277 and Cat 287.The company guarantees that the tracks will fit each client’s exact specifications, on time, every time.

OTR Wheel Engineering’s owner and President is bringing his newest innovative venture online in Rome, Georgia.  Called Green Carbon Inc., this new venture takes old tires and rubber tracks and processes them in a recycling reactor to reduce the tires and tracks into oil, carbon black and steel.  During the recycling process, the rubber is vaporized in a chamber producing synthetic gas which is re-utilized to feed the recycling process.

This whole process performed by the Green Carbon recycling machine is completely environmentally friendly.  The machine and process gives off no pollution.  It takes what is considered a waste product and turns it back into usable products in a safe and cost effective manner.

Mr. Taylor’s intention is to locate Green Carbon recycling machines at or nearby OTR Wheel Engineering locations throughout the U.S.  There maybe franchising opportunities in the near future for qualified investors as well.

What does OTR stand for? Well, that depends on who you are.

  • OTR could stand for Old Time Radio.  But, nope. That's not us.
  • OTR could stand for Off The Record.  But, no again.  We are not into politics or gossip.
  • OTR could also stand for Over The Road.  Close, but we don’t do much of that type of work.

In our case, OTR stands for Off The Road.  OTR Wheel Engineering is all about tires, wheels, rims, components and a whole range of products that deal with off-the-road equipment. If your equipment is intended to be used in off-the-road applications in agriculture, construction, mining, earthmoving, grounds care or military use, we are the company to call.

Note: For the curious, acronymfinder.com lists 84 other meanings for the acronym OTR.
